devlog #4 – Crafting, Machines, and Mods


In this update, I dive into triangle’s evolving crafting system, where the ship becomes a modular, drifting factory.

Key features so far:

  • Mods can be extracted, upgraded, or sacrificed — and are local to the machine they’re on.

  • Machines like Smelters, Constructors, Disassemblers, Foundries, and Augmentors handle everything from refining ore to installing mods.

  • Machines and items are tiered: higher tiers unlock more mod slots and better capabilities.

  • Items might now be better called buildings, as they’re literally mounted onto your ship.

Crafting is a hybrid of randomness and strategy — I want it to feel rewarding without becoming overwhelming.
